Cubicle Heaven: How to Find Startup Space in Dublin

New Office

Four months ago I wrote about working from home and it generally driving me nuts. But one month ago, just before I cracked for real, I found the perfect spot for my little startup: in the Trinity College Enterprise Centre. The photo above shows the partitioned bliss I live in 60 hours a week (and the guy in the shot is Dave Jeffery, my recent hire, working on our new web app; more on that soon)!

Talk to these people when looking for startup space in Dublin City (startup space = cheap office space):

The key to success is persistence. There’s lots of affordable office space out there. Call these people and tell everyone you know that you need help and you’ll find the right place soon enough. Good luck!

If you have any contacts that I could add to that list, please let me know.

  1. Congrats on the new office space. I look forward to seeing this mysterious new app off yours.

  2. Good luck in your new digs Eoghan!

  3. I can recommend Ron Immink, good guy!

  4. Congrats on the office space lads. You know Eoghan, if you get another one of those L-shaped partitions you could box Dave in completely and he’d have to stay there and work around the clock? It might not do much for morale but think of the productivity.

  5. Eoghan,
Are there many other people in the same room as yourself and Dave?

  6. Thanks, guys.

    Ken, I think that’s a great idea. What’s moral?

Cormac, just us two at the moment. Space for 7 in total. You looking for office space?

  7. Nope, not looking but I would be really choosey over who my neigbours are.

  8. Peter Knight

    Nice one Eoghan.
Hey - how come Dave only has one post it note and you have about 17? :O)

  9. Good question, Peter. And what’s the deal with the battered sausage and the coffee on your desk, Eoghan? It’s hardly brain food now, is it?

  10. Peter: Dave’s not a fan of my post-it system. In fact, I wrote that one! I think he’d just rather forget stuff… which is an interesting system in itself.

Ken: That is in fact a pain au chocolat (direct translation: “bread with the chocolate”), although it’s not a million miles from a battered sausage (”shit with the meat”).

  11. Hi eoghan,i just stumbled upon your page while doing research here at Dublin City Enterprise Board into the need for more enterprise space in the Dublin City area. I would love to hear about your experiences in finding suitable space.I have set up an online survey which takes no longer than 5 minutes to fill in.From this, I hope to find out what business sectors are particularly finding it difficult to find suitable premises in Dublin.
