The next OpenCoffee Club Dublin will be Thursday morning, 21 June 2007 in the Morrison Hotel and every two weeks after that.
OpenCoffee Club Dublin has been on a bit of a hiatus of late. The reasons:
- I’ve been in supermegabusystressed™ mode and haven’t had a chance to arrange a date for one;
- I was also a little downhearted by the disproportionately low turnout in Ireland’s capital for the previous events.
But through some recent conversations and re-reading Saul Klein’s original post on the idea (reproduced in part below), I realised that:
- not having the meetups is certainly not the solution;
- it’s about quality, not quantity!
So I’ll be there from now on, camped-out with my Macbook and Americano, every second Thursday morning from 21 June 2007.
The key is a regular place and a regular time - it’s not important who comes along, some days it might be no one - just that people know if they want to meet, this is the time and this is the place.

cool - it’s not about volume, its about consistency and quality. like you say, sometimes just enjoying your own company can be good enough. more power to OCC Dublin :)

Definitely a good idea, I’d say at least the five of the co-working group will make it down.
What time?
Just a quick heads-up about the wifi in the Morrison - as we have a few meetings there and know some staff - the signal is 100% better in the lobbey area on down the stairs past the toilets. Should seat about 15 people easy enough too.
