OpenCoffee Club Dublin is Back

OpenCoffee Club Dublin

The next OpenCoffee Club Dublin will be Thursday morning, 21 June 2007 in the Morrison Hotel and every two weeks after that.

OpenCoffee Club Dublin has been on a bit of a hiatus of late. The reasons:

  • I’ve been in supermegabusystressed™ mode and haven’t had a chance to arrange a date for one;
  • I was also a little downhearted by the disproportionately low turnout in Ireland’s capital for the previous events.

But through some recent conversations and re-reading Saul Klein’s original post on the idea (reproduced in part below), I realised that:

  • not having the meetups is certainly not the solution;
  • it’s about quality, not quantity!

So I’ll be there from now on, camped-out with my Macbook and Americano, every second Thursday morning from 21 June 2007.

The key is a regular place and a regular time - it’s not important who comes along, some days it might be no one - just that people know if they want to meet, this is the time and this is the place.

  1. Hopefully will make it, Eoghan. It’s down in the calendar

  2. I’ll be there from early until whenever I can get away with :)

  3. cool - it’s not about volume, its about consistency and quality. like you say, sometimes just enjoying your own company can be good enough. more power to OCC Dublin :)

  4. @Saul, are you describing an espresso or OCC? ;)

  5. Sound cool Eoghan. Hopefully it will start to build momentum with a regular schedule.

  6. Definitely a good idea, I’d say at least the five of the co-working group will make it down.

  7. What time?

  8. Just a quick heads-up about the wifi in the Morrison - as we have a few meetings there and know some staff - the signal is 100% better in the lobbey area on down the stairs past the toilets. Should seat about 15 people easy enough too.

  9. sounds great. count me in.

    I think the last one I was at was very useful. Look forward to the next.

  10. Looks like there’s some good interest in this…

    Alan: It starts at around 9am and continues for a couple hours. People come and go as they please during that time.

  11. I’ll be there.

  12. Hi guys,

    I’ll almost definitely be in to say hello.

    Alastair.

  13. Hi Eoghan,
    I’ll be there! Btw, I just twitted it and RedMum answered she’ll try to make it. Twitter is once again proving useful for meeting people!

  14. So… what do we call twitter users? :)
