One category in this year’s Net Visionary Awards is Best Online Banking Service. Apart from the fact that there are no good online banking services in this country (I’ve seen a lot of them), the only way one could legitimately vote for the best out of the four nominated would be to have an account with each of the banks and be a user of their online services. Who do you know with an account with Bank of Ireland and Permanent TSB and RaboDirect and Halifax?
There are certainly a few people on that long list deserving of some decent recognition, but by and large, the Net Visionary Awards are no more than a popularity contest.

I presume that’s why they have demo’s right?
Having seen a lot of them, I think my favourite one isn’t even on the list of nominees!

Why is NIB’s service not mentioned on any of these lists? Since their takeover by Danske Bank last year, the upgraded NIB service is excellent, way ahead of anything else I’ve used.
I don’t have an account with Rabo Direct but I thinkn they do good online campaigns i got this email last week… Yes I suffer from the long finger:)

I use 365online myself and find it does the job not sure about the other banks

I think they all do a brilliant job all of the time and deserve an award. In fact, why not give them next year’s award to save time and money.
